The Building Process

Whether you purchase your freight cars thru us or send us your own freight cars, the building process is the same.  Once the freight cars are received, the parts are carefully separated and professionally cleaned.  The main bodies of the freight cars are assembled.  Weights are added to NMRA specifications.  Then couplers and trucks are added.  Couplers are set to correct height.  Detail parts are added as per prototype.  The bodies are professionally painted and decals are added.  Weathering is optional as per your specifications.

Shipping

All kits that are return shipped to our customers are insured.  We want to make sure you receive your kits back safely.  We will contact you shortly after you receive your package to ensure that the work we completed on your freight cars meet your standards, and you are happy with the end result.  Please see our policies page for more information.

Additional Information

Other freight cars that we can build for you include brass, styrene, and plastic.  We do engine and kit repairs.  We assemble buildings.  If you are interested in having a building kit assembled, please contact us for more details.

Events

We hold two events per week.  On Wednesdays we have a model railroad night where we work on our HO layout, The Dover Subdivision.  On Saturdays we work on building HO freight cars, passenger cars, and cabooses.  Please see our events page for dates and times.

Travel

Our travel section includes photos of train related places we visited.  We enjoy visiting railroads to take photos of scenery, buildings, and trains to use in our modeling.  We find that the more we experience the "real" thing, the more realistic our modeling becomes.
