Dennis Williams
He was unsuccessful at that time. This is what started him in repairing trains.
During high school he started airbrushing brass for Diesel Consignment. He bought a piece of brass from them. They asked if he wanted them to paint it. He said no he did his own paintwork. They asked for a sample of his work, and this was the start of Dennis’s airbrushing professionally. He is still on their website today.
Dennis built his first layout while he was in high school. It was a 4 x 8 layout to run equipment. He built several other small modules after that. He started a 25 x 75 layout a few years later, but the owners of the building sold it and he couldn’t continue it. His current layout is 25 x 19 with a 10 x 10 extension. He began work on this layout, the Dover Subdivion, 7 years ago.
Dennis’s resin history started when F & C released the PRR H-32 hopper. He built over 300 resin cars since then. He custom builds all of his kits, and then details, airbrushes, decals, and weathers them. Twenty of Dennis’s resin pieces have been on display at local RPM shows.
Dennis worked for Conrail/Norfolk Southern for three years as a conductor on the Pittsburgh division. During this time he traveled to Conway, West Brownsville, and Altoona via Horseshoe Curve.
Dennis brings to this business over 39 years of model railroading experience. He enjoys watching the CSX main and NS main which are within 100 feet of each other in the nearby town of Homestead, PA. He travels with his family to railfan across PA, and other eastern states. He is a true rail fan.
