What is the process for having a freight car built?

When you call or email with your request, the first questions you will be asked is what you would like built.

If you are purchasing your freight car thru us, this is not as easy as it sounds.  Many road names and types of model railroad cars and buildings exist.  Do your best to narrow down your choices.   We will ask you if you are using the model for display or to run on a model railroad.

We build model railroad kits to specifications.  What is unique about our company is that we also give you the option to detail out your custom car.  The more you let us know what you are interested in, the more we can help you design your car the way you want it completed.

If you are sending us your freight cars, cabooses and passenger cars, we will ask for specific details about what you want completed on your model car.  We want to make sure you get an accurate picture of what you are seeing in your mind.

Once we receive your freight cars, cabooses and passenger cars, we will let you know an approximate time frame and begin construction.  We will keep you updated on the progress and let you know when your pieces are about ready to return to you.

Why does the time for completion of models vary so much?

The process depends on the amount of detail requested, the availability of decals and parts, and the current turnaround time in the shop.
